Silhouette Studio can open certain embroidery formats so you can use designs you already own, but you'll typically prepare and stitch the actual embroidery in your machine's software like Embrilliance. The path depends on your file type and machine. We have step-by-step videos showing exactly how to open, convert, and prep embroidery files inside the membership.
Embrilliance Essentials is popular entry-level software for sizing, combining, lettering, and managing embroidery designs across brands, including Brother. It's not required, but it makes editing and monogramming far easier than machine software alone. Our tutorials walk through installing it, including on Mac, and using it for real projects
Most stitch-out problems trace back to hooping, stabilizer choice, thread tension, or the design itself. Make sure the fabric is hooped taut, you're using the right stabilizer for the material, and your tension and needle are correct for the thread. Members can send us the details and we'll help you diagnose it fast.
You can stitch built-in machine fonts, or use software like Embrilliance to build custom monograms with the exact font, size, and layout you want, then send it to your Brother machine. We have tutorials covering both the built-in route and the software route, including circle and classic monogram styles.
